Gratitude Journal

Gratitude as a Way of Life

One writer has suggested that day-to-day gratitude toward God is a good “thermometer” of our spiritual health.  Looking for ways to cultivate gratitude in your spiritual life?  Try a “Gratitude Journal.” A Gratitude Journal is simply a place to reflect daily (or weekly or monthly) about what you are grateful for in your life.  Journal about what you are grateful for, why and the circumstances that created the gratitude.  You can also create individual gratitude journals for your spouse/partner, children, friends, etc.  Click here for more ideas on creating a Gratitude Jounal.

On Thanksgiving Day, and on “regular” days to come, enjoy this poem/prayer of gratitude:
For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, For love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends, Father in heaven, We thank thee.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
